About the Lubbock Cultural District
The Lubbock Cultural District is where art meets the spirit of West Texas. Covering more than 1.42 square miles in downtown Lubbock, the District is home to a dynamic network of cultural organizations that host over 1,000 events each year, drawing approximately 1.4 million attendees—18% of whom travel from outside the area. The District generates an estimated $84 million in total economic impact annually.
The Lubbock Cultural District is anchored by key cultural facilities, including the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, and Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences to the north; the Wells Fargo Amphitheater and American Wind Power Center to the east; the Buddy Holly Center and the Depot Entertainment District to the south; and Texas Tech University to the west.
