Peacherine’s Stage & Screen Spectacular, accompanying Harold Lloyd’s classic silent film THE FRESHMAN (1925)

Step back in time with the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra as they whisk you back to the 1920s to experience the grandeur and magic of the movies as screened a century ago. Laugh out loud to the antics of Harold Lloyd in his motion picture classic THE FRESHMAN (1925), as the live Peacherine Orchestra plays the original 1925 orchestral score.

Plus, as an added bonus, see the first blockbuster short film, THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY (1903) made by Thomas Edison! Tap your feet to the syncopated stylings of America’s original popular music: Ragtime, brought back to life as only Peacherine can, as they play classics by Scott Joplin, George Gershwin and the creators of the Great American Songbook! It’s a show that’s guaranteed to make both young and old smile from ear to ear. Grab your bowler hat and suspenders, park your Model T down the street, and enjoy the musical time machine that is the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra!

About the Feature Film:
Harold Lloyd’s biggest box-office hit was THE FRESHMAN, a silent comedy gem, featuring the befuddled everyman at his eager best as a new college student. Though he dreams of being a big man on campus, the freshman’s careful plans inevitably go hilariously awry, be it on the football field or at the Fall Frolic. But he gets a climactic chance to prove his mettle—and impress the sweet girl he loves—in one of the most famous sports sequences ever filmed. This crowd-pleaser is a gleeful showcase for Lloyd’s slapstick brilliance and incandescent charm, and is accompanied by Peacherine Orchestra playing the film’s original 1925 score, originally compiled by James C. Bradford.
