Position Overview
Flatlands Dance Theatre, located in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nonprofit Arts Administration Intern to support our mission and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and accounting/finance within a professional dance company. This internship provides valuable mentorship and networking opportunities for students or early-career professionals interested in arts administration and nonprofit leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Finance & Bookkeeping: Maintain QuickBooks and perform bookkeeping tasks. Keep up with the budget, file taxes and supporting tax forms.
• Board Engagement: Assist in coordinating board meetings, taking minutes, and supporting strategic planning efforts.
• Fundraising & Development: Support grant writing, donor outreach, and fundraising initiatives under the guidance of board members.
• Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties such as email correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining records.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate in Theatre & Dance,
Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, and community engagement.
