The Artist Internship Program at East Lubbock Art House (ELAH) provides the opportunity to learn about the operations of a non-profit art institution, gain vital artistic knowledge, and hands-on professional experience.

This program is for those who maintain a strong work ethic and passion for cultural arts and community development. This program runs on a 15-week basis with internship renewals available; as well as financial and professional growth opportunities.

We value and pose these requirements of our Art Internship Program participants:
Must be adequately skilled in computer technology, Google platforms, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.
Maintain a level of art experience and knowledge (and ready to learn more about the arts).
Must be able to work at least 10 hours per week in person.
Must be able to assist and be educated in leading art classes.
Must be able to work independently and within group settings.
Knowledge of basic graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Express, etc).
Must be able to work fundraisers, events, and markets (as well as interact well with patrons and visitors).
Understand and uphold our mission and vision (you can find it on our website).
Must be respectful, trustworthy and mature.
Must be between the ages of 16-24.

Activities (these include skills and daily activities that program participants will be familiar with after at least a 15 week time frame):
Communication, Public Speaking, Group Discussions, Collaboration, Mural creation and preservation, Arts administration, Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of our community art center, Event management, Art class planning, instruction, and participation, Fundraising, T-shirt printing/screen-printing, Grant writing.

Special consideration is given to applicants from or living in East Lubbock, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and/or LGBTQIA+ individuals.
