PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST*: October 15th at 6:00pm | Hodges Community Center
*Registration if Free, but must register by October 12th

Join the City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation and Reliant in being a part of this spectacular fall scene of pumpkins and foliage in one of Lubbock’s favorite family traditions. Have your company’s name and logo seen by the over 20,000 people who walk the Pumpkin Trail, running October 16th-19th.

This event is completely FREE to the public thanks to local individuals and businesses contributing sponsorships. These sponsorships help cover the cost of 24-hour security for nights, lighting, shuttles for parking, portable restrooms, and signage.

CARVING CONTEST

Bring your families and friends and walk along a lighted trail of carved jack-o-lanterns in the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum in Clapp Park during the Pumpkin Trail, presented by Reliant. Enjoying this glowing pathway of pumpkins is FREE for everyone and a family-friendly tradition that encourages everyone to celebrate the changing of the season!

PUMPKIN DROP OFF INFORMATION:

To help make the Pumpkin Trail as long and as spectacular as it can be, we need everyone in Lubbock to donate their carved or decorated pumpkins! Drop off your pumpkins to help us reach our goal and see your crafty creations on display at the 17th annual Pumpkin Trail!

Pumpkin drop off will be on Tuesday, October 14th from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum.

Look for the “DELIVER PUMPKINS HERE” signs outside the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum at 4111 University on the east side of the parking lot. Groups bringing 10 or more pumpkins will have a sign posted on the trail with their name or logo on it. Pumpkin carvings must be family friendly.

PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST INFORMATION:

Think you and your team can carve the best pumpkins in Lubbock? Put your skills to the test with Lubbock Parks and Recreation’s Pumpkin Carving Competition 2025!

When: Wednesday, October 15th at 6:00 PM

Where: Hodges Community Center

Registration is free, opening on September 14, 2025, and closing on October 12, 2025. Teams must consist of between 2 and 10 members. Judging will take place the following morning, Thursday, October 16, 2025, and winners will be notified accordingly. Prizes will be awarded for 4 themes.

All completed pumpkins will be featured in the 17th Annual Pumpkin Trail, provided they meet Pumpkin Trail guidelines. Teams completing all 10 pumpkins will receive a group sign displayed along the Pumpkin Trail.
