It’s that time of the year again! We’re accepting applications for our Artist Internship Program. Submit your application or share this opportunity with a young person who you think would be interested.

East Lubbock Art House’s Artist Internship Program, which supports young artists in developing their craft, labor, and leadership while using art as a tool for community care, resistance, and collective imagination.

Special consideration is given to applicants from or living in East Lubbock, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and/or LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Artist Internship Program Dates:
Summer 2026: Sunday, May 10th, 2026 – Sunday, August 24th, 2026

This program is open to 16-24 year olds.

Activities (these include skills and daily activities that program participants will be familiar with after at least a 15 week time frame):
Communication, Public Speaking, Group Discussions;
Collaboration;
Professional evelopment,
Mural creation and preservation;
Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of our community art center;
Event management;
Art class planning, instruction, and participation;
Fundraising;
Interior/Exterior painting,
T-shirt printing/screen-printing;
Arts administration; and
Grant writing
