Join us for the final Come and See program of the academic year and we’re ending in unforgettable style.
Join us on Saturday, March 14 for “Cream of the Crop,” a dazzling showcase of fashion royalty and cultural icons.
We’re bringing out the legends: Garments from Chanel, Dior, and Balenciaga. High fashion names that have defined red carpets, runways, and pop culture moments for generations. Think timeless elegance, bold innovation, and the couture craftsmanship that continues to influence what we see on celebrities and in fashion headlines today.
We’ll also spotlight couture worn by Texas trailblazer Mamie Burns of the Pitchfork Ranch and international style icon Mona von Bismarck, whose wardrobe rivaled Hollywood’s golden age glamour.
And beyond fashion, we’ll reveal remarkable pieces of history: A rare 1790s School Girl Sampler, stitching together early American artistry and education.
The Susan Robb quilt is one of the few surviving examples reflecting the Confederate perspective during the Civil War, offering a powerful look at how textiles tell complex stories.
From Parisian couture houses to the Texas plains, from high society to handcrafted history, this is truly the best of the best.
Don’t miss this grand finale. Come and See.
Don’t miss this grand finale. Come and See.
The Come and See programs at the Museum of Texas Tech University offer a look into the massive closet that is the museum’s Clothing and Textile collection. The collection totals more than 33,000 items.
Dr. Marian Ann Montgomery, clothing and textiles curator, shows 20–30 different objects at each Come and See program. From clothing to quilts and embroidered pieces, each object tells the story of the women and men who wore the clothing, hats and shoes.
