AUDITION MATERIALS AND EXPECTATIONS
Available roles: All of the roles in this production are available for casting. No one has been precast.

General Information for the audition day: We are scheduled to meet in the theater space at h2c2. All auditioners will be presenting their auditions in front of each other. Please be courteous and kind to the others auditioning. Auditions will start with a group warm up, then each auditioner will perform their prepared piece, and then I will assign readings for group scenes. Group scenes will be emailed before the audition so you have a chance to get familiar with them but character assignments will not be made until the time of auditions.

Dress: Please wear whatever makes you the most comfortable that also allows you to use your full range of motion. Please wear shoes that you can move in that will stay securely on your feet. I do not recommend being bare foot in the audition space.

Preparation: I would like all auditioners to prepare 30-45 seconds of a Shakespearean monologue to perform at the audition. It can be from any Shakespearean play, including Much Ado About Nothing. If you would like to memorize the piece you are welcome to, but performances with script in hand are also welcome. I am more concerned with how well you can prepare and perform the material than how well you can memorize it at this time.

A note about gender: I am not determined to cast the roles in this show according to their traditional gender norms. Please choose your prepared piece as it suits you, regardless of the traditional gender presentation of the character. I might ask auditioners to perform in a role that is traditionally assigned to a gender opposite of that which they identify. Please share if what is being asked of you is not comfortable for you, and I will accommodate to the best of my ability.

A note about age: Casting will be considered for any person who is going to be a high school student (9th grade) and above in the coming fall semester. For any person cast under the age of 18 there may be special requirements.
