Twenty years after the album that launched them into the global spotlight, Blue October celebrates the anniversary of their platinum-selling record Foiled with a special vinyl reissue, arriving May 29 via Universal Music. Pre-orders are now available on the band’s official store, with general pre-orders launching Friday.

Blue October’s deeply personal songwriting and emotionally resonant sound on Foiled cemented the Houston-bred band as one of rock’s most distinctive voices. While Foiled marked a breakthrough moment for the band, it was only the beginning. Its impact continues to ripple outward as new listeners discover the album alongside the expansive catalog that followed. The connection forged through its lyrics has only deepened over time, helping grow a devoted global audience. Blue October’s catalog now surpasses one billion streams and continues to climb.

To mark the 20th anniversary the band shared a newly released music video for “Congratulations,” offering a new visual interpretation of one of the album’s most beloved tracks.

The album initially sent frontman Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October’s life into a whirlwind, now, as the singer looks back on it 20 years in the rearview, and particularly as the band prepares to launch a yearlong Foiled 20th-anniversary celebration, he has come to realize what a true blessing his band’s most beloved body of work has been in his life.

Furstenfeld wrote the songs during an intensely personal period while living alone in Los Angeles, first capturing them as raw demos that reflected the vulnerability behind the record. Produced by Furstenfeld and David Castell, the 14-track collection balances deeply confessional lyrics with soaring melodies and emotional honesty that became a hallmark.

Cracking the Billboard Rock Chart Top 10, Foiled remains a cornerstone of alternative rock, anchored by Billboard-charting hits, including the platinum-certified “Hate Me,” “Into the Ocean” and fan favorite “She’s My Ride Home.”

Beyond the reissue, the anniversary year will include additional visual content, special fan experiences, and a global tour including their U.S. fall dates to be announced on Friday celebrating the album’s legacy. Blue October will perform Foiled in its entirety throughout 2026 and into 2027, giving audiences the chance to experience the music that has connected with fans worldwide for two decades.

“So now here we are,” Furstenfeld says as Blue October which includes drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, bassist Matt Noveskey, and lead guitarist Will Knaak prepare to hit the road this fall for a Foiled headline tour where they’ll play the classic album in its entirety. “Let’s show and remind everyone just how special and eclectic that album was,” he adds. “And, most importantly, how much we wore our heart on our sleeve for it.”
