FAITH ELEBY: As Though You Couldn’t Get Me Off Your Mind

“I create bodies of work that serve as a platform for storytelling as I dive into the tapestry of individual and collective narratives drawn from my interpersonal relationships. Through this interplay, I seek to illuminate certain natures of life and truths that have shaped human existence, conditions, and my cultural understanding of the world. Through my compositions, I navigate ideas involving the transition from youth’s innocence to adulthood’s complexities, while contemplating how our familial and romantic experiences shape our perspectives on life itself. My approach involves integrating elements from these interpersonal experiences, such as photographs and shared parallels of domestic life, to highlight my compositions’ recurring theme of belonging, identity, and factors of nurture.”
