Thursday, May 30th | 6:00 – 7:30pm
Free event, open to the public, but registration is required.
Through touch, sight, smell and sound (music will be played while artist create work), participants will have a multi-sensory experience while creating an animation.
Learn about the history of Stop-motion/Claymation and the technical steps needed to complete a short animation. Participants will have the opportunity to create a micro-animated short between 10–20 seconds, learning techniques of stop-motion animation as it applies to working with clay. Working with clay can be a therapeutic practice since it is such a tactile experience for the creator.
Participants will be able to record their animation directly on their own smart phone devices and make a video ready to share with family, friends, and artistic communities. Sharing animation can be a wonderful way to make connections with other artist and open conversations on current trends and storytelling.
