The Jazzy Christmas Concert 2022 is benefiting the James & Bernice Braxton Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is designed to enlighten, motivate, and inspire young people to keep the jazz genre alive. The scholarship funds will provide financial support to music majors who attend any college in Texas. The “JAZZY CHRISTMAS CONCERT” will be produced annually to support this worthy cause. We welcome donations to support this scholarship any time during the year. Your tax-deductible support is highly appreciated. Let’s keep jazz alive in Texas!

As a Jazz saxophonist, Tom Braxton has garnered critical acclaim for over two decades.  His music can be found on radio and television nationwide, and his albums have hit numerous jazz charts including Billboard, Radio Wave, SmoothJazz.com, Groove Jazz Music, Capital Jazz Radio and Amazon.

The artistry of Pervis Evans has been described as “refreshing,” “sophisticated,” “immediately engaging,” and “soothing to the soul.” The Texas native, with a musical upbringing in traditional gospel music, has developed a vocal quality that blends soulful, jazzy, classical, and contemporary elements of style that crosses cultural barriers.

Sheena Fadeyi Flores has been singing since she was three years old. Sheena first caught the eye of Don Caldwell when she auditioned for a Red Ribbon Drug Awareness concert at the age of twelve. Sheena was a featured performer at Six Flags Over Texas for seven years. Sheena also traveled the world and performed on Disney cruise lines as a featured performer. Currently, Sheena is living in Lubbock, Texas, and is a vocal instructor at Caldwell.

Joe Phea is a local artist from Lubbock. He has been performing at local venues for more than 30 years. Joe serves as an active member of the CAPROCK JAZZ committee, JAZZ ALLEY BAND and HUB CITY JAZZ ORCHESTRA.

Joy Harris is a local artist from Lubbock. She has performed at many local and global venues for more than 20 years. Joy is an active member of the CAPROCK JAZZ committee and performs as a solo artist, as well as with other bands in the city.
