Fifteen students will meet for the old-fashioned spelling bee, with the winner of the regional bee advancing to the 2018 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

The Lubbock bee will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, but viewers are encouraged to be seated prior to the start time. The bee will take place in rooms 111 and 112, which is located in the southwest corner of the civic center.
