Whether you want to become a professional actor/improviser, develop your own content and characters, or gain more confidence in public speaking, Intro to Improvisation is for you! Step out of your comfort zone and learn to say “yes and” to endless possibilities. The Intro to Improvisation session will feature improv games and trust building activities that will lead to improvised scene work. Learn how to let go of your inhibitions while challenging yourself in a safe environment! Ages 15+.

Price: $10 per person

Instructor Bio: Native Texan Kinna McInroe is back in her stomping grounds after 20 plus years of living and working in the entertainment business in Los Angeles. Kinna is an actor, singer, improvisor, writer, voice talent, YouTuber and teacher. She has over 30 years professional experience in the business and is a life-long student of her craft. A few of her film and T.V. Credits include: Office Space, Where The Heart Is, CSI, Criminal Minds, Deidra and Laney Rob a Train, Hawaii Five-0 and the Mad About You reboot. Commercial work includes Folgers, Walmart, AT&T, GoDaddy, etc. You may recognize Kinna’s voice from Parcast’s True Crime podcasts, she was also the voice/ host of over 100 Kick It Naturally podcasts and the voice of the YouTube channel Squirrel Monkey. She and her husband received Youtube’s Silver Creator Award for their channel Squirrel Monkey. In L.A. she studied with Gary Austin, founder of The Groundlings, for 15 years as well as Gordon Hunt and many other notable acting teachers and improvisational schools. She improvised for years in a show called Shplotz with guests artists such as Helen Hunt, Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Ruebens),Jason Alexander, James Corden, Helen Slater and dozens of other well-known artists. Kinna taught for the Non-profit, Turbine, under the direction and mentorship of Robert Watzke teaching his technique of See-React-Change. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge and years of experience to LHUCA and basically to just have fun and play.
