Fourth annual Hard Hats & Heels: Home on the Plains benefiting Lubbock Habitat for Humanity. This fundraiser event will be at the National Ranching Heritage Center with dinner, live music, dancing, an auction and more.

Every year volunteers from across the community help Habitat build 4-6 safe, affordable homes in the Lubbock community. The money to fund construction is raised locally and helps change the lives of families living in Lubbock. The path to homeownership is not easy, but it truly transforms the lives of adults and children who may have never had a home, room, or sometimes even a bed to call their own. Statistics show, children growing up in a Habitat house are more likely to stay in school and even experience improved health and wellness. Lubbock Habitat hopes these quality homes will provide a positive economic impact for the community.

Lubbock Habitat for Humanity builds decent affordable housing for low/moderate income families and individuals. Since 1987 Lubbock Habitat has built or repaired over 150 homes, serving over 500 adults and children.

One deserving homeowner is a young single woman who wanted to start investing her future through homeownership. After qualifying for the program,

this loving young woman made the decision to become the foster parent for her cousin’s four children. This new family will be moving into

their Habitat home in June, 2024

Habitat’s homeownership program is a hand up not a hand out. Each qualified homeowner repays an affordable, interest free mortgage. All funds raised by Lubbock Habitat stay in Lubbock to benefit citizens of Lubbock.

All proceeds from the Hard Hats & Heels Gala 2024 are going back to Habitat, this will allow us to continue our mission of building affordable homes.
