About Lubbock Community Theatre: Lubbock Community Theatre (LCT) is a vibrant community-based theatre dedicated to providing quality theatrical experiences to the Lubbock community. LCT presents a diverse range of productions, including plays, musicals, and special events, fostering a dynamic and creative environment for both artists and audiences alike.

Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Stages Academy Teacher to join our dynamic team and inspire young minds through the world of performing arts. As an Academy Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging theatre activities, workshops, and productions for LCT Stages members and students. This role requires a creative and enthusiastic individual with a strong background in theatre education, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in fostering a love for the performing arts in children.


  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design and develop a comprehensive theatre curriculum suitable for various age groups and skill levels.
    • Create lesson plans, activities, and projects that align with goals and objectives.
  2. Instruction and Facilitation:
    • Conduct theatre workshops and activities, including acting, improvisation, voice, movement, and other theatrical techniques depending on theme.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and collaboration.
  3. Rehearsals and Productions:
    • Lead the rehearsal process for productions, guiding participants in script analysis, blocking, character development, and stage presence.
    • Coordinate and oversee the production of a final showcase or performance at the end of the sessions.
  4. Skill Development:
    • Provide constructive feedback to campers to help them enhance their acting and performance skills.
    • Encourage and support individual growth, helping campers build confidence and self-esteem through their theatrical experiences.
  5. Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times.
    • Supervise and manage the behavior of students during activities and transitions.
  6. Communication:
    • Maintain open communication with administration, parents, and other staff members to provide updates on Academy activities.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other Stages Academy teachers and staff members.
    • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.


  • Proven experience in teaching theatre to children or young adults.
  • Strong understanding of various acting techniques and theatrical concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Passion for working with children and fostering their creative expression through the arts.
