Position Description

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budgets. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the coordination of art exhibits for the International Cultural Center. Call for entries, selection (or work with an external juror on selection), set up and take down of art exhibits, returning original artwork to participants, and marketing of the exhibit.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the exhibit receptions, including media and advertising, invitations (design and mailing), food/drink, volunteers, etc.
  • Create an online version of each art exhibit displayed in International Cultural Center galleries to promote the exhibit and make it available.
  • Create the bi-monthly (every two months) International Affairs newsletter. Coordinate with all units to ensure a web page is created for each story, create layout and edit newsletter, and ensure it is distributed digitally to the TTU campus.
  • Create bi-monthly Spotlight articles for International Affairs website and newsletter. Determine interviewee, coordinate content, write introductions, and edit articles.
  • Responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain and secure funding for International Affairs art exhibits.
  • Assist with International Affairs signature events.
  • Represents the IA in monthly city-wide Directors’ Roundtable meetings and other related community events as necessary to promote outreach programming within the community.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Four years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree or higher with previous experience in a post-secondary academic setting.
