Mission: To cultivate and celebrate all the arts by inspiring creativity and engaging with the community.

LHUCA is a non-profit arts organization located in downtown Lubbock, TX. Signature events produced by LHUCA include First Friday Art Trail, Flatland Film Festival, newly celebrated Hub City Renaissance Faire, and so many more arts programs. Each year, over 60,000 people benefit from our programs and services.

LHUCA’s main building houses four art gallery spaces that host over 20 exhibitions annually featuring regional, national, and international artists. Concerts, dance, theatrical and film programs are held in our Firehouse Theatre. The campus also contains the Christine DeVitt Icehouse, the Graffiti Building, LHUCA Plaza and The Helen DeVitt Jones Clay Studio.

Job Title: LHUCA Front Desk Associate (Part-Time) (On-Site)

Job Overview: The LHUCA Front Desk Associate is pivotal in ensuring a positive and enriching experience for
visitors while contributing to the seamless operation of LHUCA facilities. This part-time position demands a
versatile skill set, prioritizing customer service, organizational proficiency, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting
the arts.

Responsibilities:
Visitor Engagement:
● Warmly greet and assist each visitor, cultivating a welcoming environment.
● Manage incoming phone calls, transfer them to the appropriate LHUCA staff, and promptly
respond to email and phone messages.

Facility Operations:
● Execute opening and closing procedures for LHUCA facilities to ensure smooth daily operations.
● Supervise gallery visitors, enforcing policies to maintain a respectful and secure environment.
● Provide occasional assistance with event set-up and tear-down.

Administrative Support:
● Offer operational support to the Executive Director and Development Director.
● Perform diverse administrative tasks contributing to the overall efficiency of LHUCA operations.
Flexibility and Efficiency:
● Undertake additional duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability.
● Efficiently manage various tasks inherent to the part-time nature of the position.

Qualifications:
Education:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● College coursework or a 2-4-year degree in visual, performing, or literary arts discipline is
preferred but not required.

Experience:
● Experience or a strong interest in a non-profit arts organization, museum, or related field.
Communication Skills:
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills:
● Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaboration:
● Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with LHUCA staff.
Passion for the Arts:
● Demonstrated passion for LHUCA’s mission and commitment to arts and cultural enrichment.

This part-time position requires flexible working hours to accommodate various tasks and responsibilities. A typical
work week consists of Tuesday – Friday, 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, but may vary depending on scheduled events.
