Have you ever wanted to taste the spices of India? Smell the sweet smells of South Asian street foods? Watch the flowing of a calligraphy brush as it strokes a piece of rice paper? Then we have the opportunity for you to travel the world while staying in Lubbock…
Culture Fest is our largest event of the Fall. An event where the many cultures of Texas Tech comes together to share what makes them unique.
Join us on October 15th as we invite our various international student organizations, language departments, and other multicultural groups to share the different aspects of their cultures, through music, food, live performances and arts and crafts.

International Week has a 20-year history that began as a joint initiative of the US Department of Education and the US Department of State and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries across the globe. International Week allows the community to celebrate many of the cultures that make up our campus and to learn more about the opportunities for greater global literacy.

For 2022 the Office of International Affairs is delighted to host several events in celebration of International Week at Texas Tech University.

The Office of International Affairs will host an event with International Scholars to inform them of our services, answer any questions, and explore ways OIA can better serve them during their time on campus and in Lubbock.

This event will be held at the National Ranching Heritage Center. International Scholars and their families will have the chance to tour the outdoor historical park.

All faculty and staff are invited to attend the International Affairs Annual Open House from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the International Cultural Center (ICC).

Enjoy international cuisine from local restaurants and tour the art exhibit featured in the galleries of the ICC.

See the world through the photographs of our Study Abroad students and International Scholars. The exhibit of 65 photos is on display at the International Cultural Center and the award winners will be announced at the reception.

Costa Rican Fulbright Association Visit to TTU

Distinguished founding board members of the Costa Rican Fulbright Association, President Guillermo Barquero Chacon, and board members Evelyn and Hellen Aguilar-Murillo, will be visiting TTU as part of the International Affairs-International Week Events. Guillermo is a Fulbrighter and a Political Scientist from the University of Costa Rica. He is a well-known international political analyst who has written for many years about different political and international Latin American issues and has a vast experience on international education and intercultural events worldwide. Evelyn and Hellen, Fulbrighters and twin sisters, are co-owners of Grupo Idiomática de San José, a Costa Rican based language company founded in 1992. They are creative, communicative, multilingual, and skilled linguists (Spanish, English, Portuguese) with more than 25 years of teaching and translating experience at multinational companies, international and local NGOs, universities and serving as cultural and multilingual advisors to U.S. Ambassadors in Costa Rica.
