The Garden & Arts Center Summer 2023 Classes are back! This year’s classes will be held from June 5th – July 21st, 2023.

Classes will be offered every week, Monday – Friday 1:00-4:00 pm. Registration forms & payment must be made at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to the class in order to secure spots.

All classes are ages 10-17.

CLAY CLASSES
All clay classes are $180 per student per two weeks.

Learn the fundamentals of working with clay. Students will learn various techniques such as hand-building, coil-building, slab construction, and surface decoration. They will learn about bisque and glaze firing techniques so that each student will have a collection of their own handmade ceramic artworks. Class is open to all levels.

Class 1: June 5th – 16th

Class 2: June 19th – 30th

Class 3: July 10th – 21st

 

PHOTO CLASSES
All photo classes are $100 per student per week.

Fun with Analogue Photography

Learn the basic principles of photography, including exposure, focus, depth of field, and composition. Explore the different types of cameras and film formats. Construct and use pinhole cameras and camera obscuras.

Class 1: June 5th – 9th

Class 2: June 26th – 30th

 

Alternative Process Photography

Learn about alternate types of photography. Explore mixed media, salt printing, cyanotype, Van Dyke, and photo transfer processes to create unique photographic artworks.

Class 1: June 12th – 16th

Class 2: July 10th – 14th

 

Digital Photography and Bookmaking

Learn the fundamentals of digital photography, including composing a shot, adjusting camera settings, and using natural light. Explore the art of storytelling through photography and bookmaking. Create your own book.

Class 1: June 19th – 23rd

Class 2: July 17th – 21st
