East Lubbock Art House in partnership with the City of Lubbock invite you to apply for the Basketball Court Mural Design Competition to create an artistic design to be made into mural on the Booker T. Washington basketball court (117 ft x 47 ft) in Lubbock, Texas.
Location of Booker T. Washington Park: 2005 Birch Ave, Lubbock, Texas 79404
Guidelines for the Artist (that’s you):
- The artist will not be required to assist in the completion of the mural, but we would appreciate it if they would do so.
- East Lubbock Art House and the City of Lubbock will hold all rights to adjust or alter any design components of the selected artists submission to fit the needs of the Booker T. Washington Park Basketball Court Mural.
- The artist will be paid $500 for their artwork/design.
- There are no age restrictions for artists to submit their work, but the artist must be able to answer all of the questions below.
Guidelines for Artwork Submission:
- We suggest you submit a simple, geometric, colorful design, representative of community and the East Lubbock culture.
- Artwork or designs that represent Black and/or Latinx culture, diversity, and/or the history of Lubbock will be given special consideration.
- Artwork submissions should be in a rectangular format.
