Art Lectures with Dr. Conrad: Yoko Ono
Saturday’s at LHUCA
511 Avenue K
Saturday, March 21st
11:30am – 1pm
Free and open to the public
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.
Yoko Ono’s visual and performance art are often overshadowed by her connection and contribution to the world of music. Emerging from the Fluxus movement of the 1960s, Ono’s work is seen as a pioneering effort in both conceptual and performance art. Always evolving and changing, Yoko Ono has also contributed art to the world of experimental film and installation. This lecture will also feature a look at performance art and an examination of some of the early practitioners who worked with the artist.
Join us for coffee and donuts!
