Amanda Cypert Sneed grew up in the small Panhandle town of Tulia, Texas. With a knack for creating and a strong desire to keep art as a focus in her life, she moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University, graduating in 2007 from the School of Art with a BFA in Communication Design. Although a graphic designer by trade, Amanda always felt called to pursue other artistic endeavors outside of her day job. Most recently, she found a particular joy and release while haphazardly layering acrylic paint for a class she was taking. It was through this process that her floral paintings have evolved. Though she continues to experiment with new processes, media and subjects, Amanda’s artwork as a whole is aimed at creating meaning out of chaos and finding beauty in imperfection.
