Art on the Llano Estacado is an unparalleled evening of discovery and fun as new works of art are presented for purchase.
By attending the 7th Annual Art on the Llano Estacado Art Exchibition and Sale you are supporting the Museum of Texas Tech University. Proceeds from this exclusive event assist the Museum Association in its continued commitment to providing free educational programming and outreach at the Museum.
Legacy Award Recipient: Carol Howell
Biography / Artist Statement
Originally from Spokane, Washington, Carol has made Texas her home for more than 30 years. She tackled various media throughout her education, culminating with an MFA in Design from the University of Washington in 1975. She is a dedicated painter; her goal is to complete a painting a week. In 2019 she was able to complete 50 paintings.
She is also a contributor to the encouragement of the arts and artists in the Lubbock community.
She has served as an officer, board member, or advisor to:
2009 Lubbock Art Festival Co-Chair; Community Foundation of West Texas; Lubbock Area Foundation; Lubbock Art Alliance; Lubbock Art Association; Texas Tech Museum; Texas Watercolor Society; and the West Texas Watercolor Society
She received the Lubbock Art Alliance 2006 Helping Hand ACE Award and the LHUCA 2009 William D. Kerns Award for her work on Local Color Studio Tour. Her work has been seen nationally and regionally and has received numerous awards. Her collectors are national and international.
